The table shows the number of respondents in the Labor Force Survey (LFS) weighted to the entire population according to employment status who also either receive unemployment benefits, social assistance or are in activation. The sum recipients of unemployment benefits or social assistance incl. persons in activation corresponds to gross unemployment in the register-based unemployment concept. In the present table, gross unemployment cannot be expected to correspond precisely to the register-based gross unemployment because the LFS is based on a sample of the population and is therefore affected by sampling uncertainty. Differences between the LFS and register-based gross unemployment also arises when respondents e.g. state that they are employed, but are listed as a recipient of social assistance in the registers. It is these differences that the table illustrates.
